Captains Meeting: |
|
|
We will be holding captains meetings on Jan 10 at
1:00PM at Main Street Billiards and on Jan 11 at 1:00PM at
Bullshooters.
We would like to meet all the captains and discuss some of the new
ideas that you may have to make the league a little more fun. This
would be a great time to throw out any suggestions or complaints you
might have. If you are a captain and can’t make it, please arrange
for someone on your team to come.
I will bring extra rule books for teams that don’t have one, and we
will buy pizza for those who show up.

Toys for Tots Tournament Results: |
|
|
On Saturday, December 13, 2008, APA, (AMERICAN
POOLPLAYERS ASSOCIATION), held the annual Toys for Tots Tournament
for the Arizona League at Bullshooters. The day was full of
excitement for the 17 players who participated in the 8-ball
tournament. Plenty of toys were collected to go to the Marines Toys
for Tots program. This group collects toys to distribute at
Christmas to children in need in the community.
As the afternoon passed the field of skilled
competitors narrowed down to the final 3 players. They played their
hearts out, and when the dust settled Joe Ruggiero was sitting on
top.
APA would like to thank all the players who
showed up for this very special event. Those who belong to APA, and
those who don’t. |

The 2008 competition was fantastic. We hope for an

APA Masters Format |
|
3-person teams - maximum of 4 members on a roster. No Handicap and
No Skill Level Cap
Race to 7 (8 games of 9-Ball and 5 games of 8-Ball)
Winner of the lag can choose either A OR B
A. The first break
B. The first format to be played (8-Ball or 9-Ball)
(If the winner chooses to break, the opponent gets to choose the 1st
format.)
Once the first format has been chosen, the entire set must be
completed before moving to the next format.
No Coaching
Jump cues ARE ALLOWED (Provided the establishment approves)
9-Ball is played just like regular (tournament/pro) 9-Ball. A player
DOES have the option of rolling out (push) after the break.
8-Ball is played like regular APA 8-Ball.
Players earn 1 point for each game won - scorekeeping involves
keeping track of wins only! |
